Two brothers founded SkillHouse Academy to bridge the growing gap in practical life skills among young men. We believe that true independence begins with the ability to handle real-world challenges. ( 01 ) What ages are eligible for the program?
Our program is designed for young men ages 12 to 18. We believe that every boy benefits from practical experience at his own pace.
( 02 ) Is prior experience required?
No prior experience is required. SkillHouse Academy is about learning by doing. We provide all the tools and instruction needed to get started.
( 03 ) What is the program schedule?
The program runs for three consecutive weekends. Each session is held on Saturday and Sunday, from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM.
( 04 ) Where are the sessions held?
We host our sessions at specialized facilities across South Florida. Automotive training is at Prestige Auto Tech in Pompano Beach, Handyman/Home Repair training is at Phyl's Academy Prep School in Margate, & Cooking training is at Hour Cucina in Boyton Beach.
( 05 ) How is student safety ensured?
Safety is our absolute priority. Each session is supervised by experienced local men and dads. Our founders are present and involved throughout the program.
( 06 ) What happens during the Parent Call?
Our free Parent Information Call is a brief session where we discuss the program structure, student outcomes, and answer any specific questions you may have.
( 07 ) What if my son isn’t immediately excited about the program?
That’s completely normal. Many teenagers are hesitant about trying something unfamiliar, especially when it involves giving up part of their weekend. Your son does not need prior experience or immediate enthusiasm to benefit from SkillHouse. Our goal is to make the experience hands-on, practical, and engaging so they can build confidence through actually doing the work. Sometimes young men need a little extra push, especially when parents know it will benefit them!
